Russian Prosecutor General’s Office has recognized four organizations associated with Mikhail Khodorkovsky as “undesirable”

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation recognized the activities of four non-governmental organizations as “undesirable” – three from Great Britain and one from France.

The prosecutor’s office asked the Ministry of Justice to add the British Khodorkovsky Foundation to the register of “undesirable” organizations. The subsidiary structure of the fund, the British Oxford Russia Fund, will also be included in the register.

The British Future of Russia Foundation and the French European Choice were recognized as “undesirable” as well.

“It has been established that their activities pose a threat to the foundations of the constitutional order and security of the Russian Federation,” the prosecutor’s office said.

The Khodorkovsky Foundation supports educational projects, its subsidiary Oxford Russia Fund distributes scholarships to students in the social sciences and humanities. The Future of Russia Foundation and European Choice are also involved in educational projects.
