The human rights project Gulagu.net received 40 gigabytes of records of torture and rape of prisoners in Russian colonies.
According to Vladimir Osechkin, the founder of Gulagu.net, the “secret archive of the special services” was handed over to human rights defenders by a programmer, who for five years during his imprisonment had access to computers of the Federal Penitentiary Service in the Saratov region. In September, Gulagu.net already published five photographs of scenes of sexual violence and torture in the Saratov prison hospital. And now videos of the rapes of three prisoners in the hospital was published.
The prisoners, Osechkin said, were bullied by undercover agents of the FSB and FSIN. Torture and rape were filmed on official video recorders.
Human rights defenders, Osechkin added, have evidence of involvement in the torture of employees of the Main Operational Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service, as well as the operational directorates of the GUFSIN in the Irkutsk Region, the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Saratov Region and the Federal Penitentiary Service in the Vladimir Region.
“We managed to take out a person from Russia and the CIS who had been serving a sentence in one of the FSIN institutions for five years. He is a programmer, he was beaten and tortured, and then they decided to use him as a professional”, – said Osechkin. – For five years, he had access to the computers of the Federal Penitentiary Service and video recorders at the OTB-1 security headquarters in Saratov.
According to published videos, prisoners are tied to beds so that their legs and buttocks are lifted up. In some cases, a gag is inserted into the mouth, in others, they simply cover their mouth and play music somewhere in the background. After that, the tied ones are raped. Sometimes this tries to do a man, whose face does not shows in the video. In other cases, a mop, that is wrapped with tape or something similar to it, is screwed into the anus in a spiral. Then the raped man is asked if he understood everything.
After the rape, the video recorder was brought back to the headquarters, information was copied from it and dropped onto a flash drive to take to the customer. According to Osechkin, there were cases of technical failure, the video did not work or was not saved – in such situations, the torture was repeated.
Vladimir Osechkin points out that the informant was involved in preparing answers to his inquiries, but then “decided to stop this hell” and began copying information, hiding files in a computer system or writing to a separate medium. When he was released, he downloaded the rest of the archive, since he still had access to the internal system of the Federal Penitentiary Service.
“And this is not only OTB-1 in Saratov, there is evidence from Irkutsk – SIZO-1, SIZO-6. There is evidence that this practice is systemic”, – says Osechkin.
The site of the Gulagu.net project faced a DDoS attack after the announcement of the “secret archive of the special services”. According to the founder of Gulagu.net, the cyberattack is the revenge of the FSB and the FSIN for exposing their secret methods and exporting a video archive from Russia.
