WOT Foundation and the “Political Prisoners Support. Memorial” on September 12 held the first online seminar for judges from different EU countries (Poland, Bulgaria etc.).
The seminar was about the history of the judicial system in post-Soviet Russia, how it was created and how it became a political instrument of political struggle in the hands of the authorities.
The speaker was prof. Ilya Shablinsky.
The meeting was a part of the project “The Russian Legal and Judicial Systems as Instruments for Politically Motivated Human Rights Violations and Imitation of the Lawfulness of Repressions”. The project is directed to European lawyers and judges.
