The “camp of democracy” was set up in the center of Berlin

The Russian diaspora in Germany set up a tent camp in the center of Berlin in support of the politician Alexei Navalny.

Activists set up a camp in front of the Brandenburg Gate to draw the attention of European politicians to the problem of political repression in Russia.

The main demands of the “democratic camp” are the release of Alexei Navalny and all political prisoners in Russia. Also among the demands of the protesters “to stop Putin’s terror”, to stop the construction of the Russian gas pipeline “Nord Stream-2″, as well as to deprive the TV channel Russia Today of the opportunity to broadcast in Germany.

Activists also installed easels on the square with photographs of victims and critics of the Russian regime and of Vladimir Putin personally. Among them are politicians Alexei Navalny, Boris Nemtsov, Vladimir Kara-Murza Jr., journalist Anna Politkovskaya, auditor Sergei Magnitsky.
